i mix mine 50:50 3in1 and 20w50 and never had problems with my n/a carbs. But you can buy the proper SU damper oil and its not expensive. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

i just use the engine oil. when its a bit cold its a bit slow to react. but when the engine bay warms up and the carb gets warm it soon picks up and runs sweet. |

I use 3 in 1 in my N/A, can't say i've ever noticed it decrease that rapidly, i.e. sometimes top it up once every few months if that!
