Does anyone know to a guide or info on exactly which cars to get a GT1752 turbo from? I know it's a 2.0l petrol saab 93 or 95 (not aero), but any idea of year etc?

The one in your link is a VNT, easy to tell from the actuator.

This link here (courtesy of Colin (Sprocket) originally) will give you all the actual part numbers for a given series and reference which manufacturer (but not model of vehicle) uses them.

Would any of the ones listed there as being used by saab be a good one to use with a mirange manifold or simlar to save cutting bulkheads?

Rod: I have been reading your 1749/1752 comparison, trying to use it to help me understand it is that im looking for as well. Good stuff :) The comparison in the thread you have looked at was really more about the difference between a GT17** and a GT17**V. The difference between 49 and 52 is the compressor wheel diameter, and then you need to know the A/Rs as well to make sense of the information. What I was showing in that thread was the way a VNT works. There are only a couple of people on the forum using the VNTs at the moment so far as I'm aware (and that doesn't include me yet :) ). So I would suggest staying clear of the VNTs for the moment until there is some more experience with them. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

How much should I expect to pay for the turbo? Spoken to the local scrappy and they are asking 100 but to check condition first. If condition is okay does that sound reasonable? How much is excessive play in the shaft? Is a rebuilt kit expensive? Edited by Goacher65 on 2nd Dec, 2011. |
