Just got my rebored block back from the engine shop. They've reground the crank as it had some scoring, overbored +20 and fitted a centre main strap.

Im now going to put the big end caps back on and torque the crank and everything else back into place. I forgot to give them the end caps though so they didnt fit the journals.

My question is: which do i need?

There are shed loads of different options and I don't know which ones would be best?

Thanks guys.

HA! no, probably my fault, basically want to know which shells I need so I can put the crank and all the big end caps back together. The old ones were knackered.

I'm talking about these things:

Is that a little clearer?

Did they do the mains as well?

Unfortunately no - well only the centre main to go with the main strap. I didn't give them to the engine shop, only block, crank, pistons, rods, cam and centre main strap.

Will that be an issue??

It's the crank that gets ground, not the caps. You don't need to do anything with them.

Did they grind the main bearing journals on the crank?

Yeah they ground the crank lightly as the journals were lightly scored/worn and couldn't be polished out

they cant just grind it 'lightly' it has to be to a set size. also when you say you didnt give them the main bearing caps, i take it you did give them the centre one?

one day boost will be mine!

I haven't much of a clue at all what you are on about, you need to get your terms correct, the JOURNALS are the cylindrical pieces of the crank that the bearings run on.

What I would suggest, is that you contact your machine shop, and get them to supply the bearings and thrust washers needed to go with your crank.

You also should really check running clearance with plastigauge when you dry build.
