hey all, i was planning on running 5-6 pound of boost through my 998, i hav about 8:1 compression ratio, a nitrited crank, all new pistons, new bearing's, seal's, double cam chain, stronger fuel and coolant pump's and a rebuilt gearbox, i previously didnt think any more than 8 pound of boost would be safe, is this correct? I was under the impression that the lower capasity and compression would allow for higher boost, so if people running 1275's with 10 ound of boost manage, what could my engine take?

Thanks chris

Well we run 18psi in our 998 with about 7.3:1 CR. not sure how long it would last as a road car engine.

Your spec sounds similar to ours, do you have a centre main strap?

So long as it is setup correctly for fuel and ignition and the charge air temp is low enough, I don't see a problem with 10 psi +.
