Rev limits-where do i stop?!

Just wondering what sort of revs everyone takes there's to??
Never been too sure whats safe really?
does any one know what the standard metty turobs redlined at?

1/4mile in 13.2sec @ 111 terminal on 15psi

dunno where the standard metty turbos redline at, but according to carfolio.com, they were at peak bhp at 6130rpm.
I'm not trying to hijack your thread (just wanna add to it) i read somewhere that with the md286(kent) camshaft you can go to just over 7200 rpm, anyone know if this is true and if it is any good for turbo engines as i have this cam in a cooper engine i have been meaning to flog for a while

ive used a 286 in a 1380 n/a engine for a while and it made it to 7k revs nicely, it would probibly have gone further but it didnt have a center strap so i never pushed it to its limits realy

doh! why did i start messing with it!

I used to have the 285 piper cam (which is supposed to be similar) mine used to rev 8000rpm no probs (it was NA then though)!

On 10inch wheels 1st gear is almost useless on a standard 'box!

turbo a series genrally makes peak power a little over 6000rpm on a T3

peake torque a little over 3000rpm

this is good rule of thumb guide!

wild cams dont genrally help matters much !

with turbo application as you dont need to rev the nuts off of them to make all the power
