Does anyone know their stuff on the old ICE?

I've blown up a speaker in the Shogun listening to AC/DC too loud. Someone has fitted 4 off aftermarket speakers at some point in the past, removing the knackered one I've found it is a "Cerwin Vega VMAG 502".

Now I know next to feck all about these things, either its a cheapo chinese speaker with a fancy name, or ots something half decent. From the sound of the system when all was well I suspect its something decent, as it sounded bloody good.

SO, I need a pair of replacements, they are 5.25" co axials at the moment. I have googled the Cerwin Vegas but it seems they are quite old and discontinued now.

So really, any recommendations, I don't want to spend a fortune, but would like something that will equal what has come out in terms of music quality. Also any recommendations on suppliers, the last time I bought a new car head unit it still came with a tape player.

If it was me I would go on here and get something that fits the hole.. and meets your ££.££

unless you are going big, amps, componets, subs I wouldnt bother going too fancy.

Tom, i personally prefer Alpine these days, or JBL for the 'middle range' audio equipment, with Sony for head units.
There should be an online store called Car Audio Centre, have a search on there. If your budget is up to it/they have any deals on go for Focal, probably the best manufacturers speaker i have heard personally.

vibe are good quality but a bit higher in the price range the black air stuff is really good

No, they have been added in a non standard place (in the door cards) so need a neat grille to not look wank!

some vibe stuff come with plane black grilles with small chrome vibe logo, look like standard speakers with them on, they have gone John

Rob, you are a genius. You have reminded me I have a pair of Infinity speakers out of my old 405 in the garage somewhere.

I will hunt these out and fit them to the Shogun!
