Where the best place to get a rebuild kit from, cheapish?

13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat!

Pretty much all the same on eBay.

I bought two, one for the GT1749V on my Mondeo and one for the Saab GT1752 and they were both identical right down to the photocopied bits of paper. Both from different suppliers.

But the parts weren't bad, everthing fitted OK and the Mondeo still runs (better than it ever did from the way Ford built it :) )

Its a left hand thread, so turn it clockwise to undo.

You should be able to get a socket on the other end to hold the shaft still.

on the turbine there is often a a triangle that will fit in a socket, sometime this is ground away for balanceing, in which case

ok,

on the turbine there is often a a triangle that will fit in a socket, sometime this is ground away for balanceing, in which case i grab the nut bit in a vice.

use a socket on the compressor wheel with a T bar so you can twist without bending the shaft,

17's are prone to broken shafts to ge as gentle as you can, give it a load of penatrating fluid for good measure for as long as paractical.

I found an impact driver was the best.

The nut is a twelve point so you need a twelve point socket which is not common down at this size.

A normal six point simply won't fit.
