The time of life has finally come when I must sell by beloved, or become un-beloved myself *frown* This Mini has got a lot of me in it, a lot of work and Tax + an MOT untill October (iirc - check when I get home).

Bodywork: Ex-mini Mayfair, sprayed in Mini 35 perlescent cherry red. Redone sills, new passenger side A panel, welded footwells (all the usual rot points dealt with). NO wheel arches.

Mk1 wavy grill complete with whiskers and moustache. Chrome side and roof trim and washer jets.

Reg: A-reg

Engine + Box:
Built up by hand 6 months ago - Metro Turbo Box, Rebuilt by me and fitted with MiniSpares Central Oil Pickup, new sump plug and new seals all the way around. Diff is standard 3.44:1, rebuilt with new pins. New inertia starter and solenoid.

Clutch: MED Organic plate with Orange diaphragm, converted back to non-verto clutch, new slave cylinder and braided hose.

Flywheel and crank: MED Super-light Billet flywheel on a MED wedged, nitrided and cross-drilled, lightened crank, all VP bearings, MED Centre main strap.

Block: 1293cc, fitted with MED supplied turbo OMEGA pistons on end-over-end balanced rods.

Head: Avonbar PH3 (I think) head - Chambers opened out (de-nosed), flowed and ported + polished, standard rockers and Sodium valves. MiniSpares race head studs+nuts

Cam: Kent KC500

Cooling: 4-core Rad fitted with PACET thermostatic electric fan, cast impeller water pump.

Distributor: Mk2 Metro turbo dizzy with new rotor, cap and ignitor.

Fuel Pump: Modified tank with metro turbo pump, copper fuel lines.

Turbo: Turbo Technics rebuilt T3 (have the receipts), was running 12psi but old intercooler location not good (and hosing crap) to taken back to 8 psi no intercooler (temporarily), but have the MK2 Escort cooler still - fully working and pressure tested. Mechanical boost controler (not bleed valve).

Exhaust: Maniflow turbo exhaust, side exit (big and nice toned)

Brakes: Front:MiniSport 4-pot billet alumninium calipers and 7.9" vented disks. Rear: Std drums with new shoes. Braided Hoses.

Wheels: Italian made mini-lite type 10" wheels, but appear to be some extremely light alloy - you can throw them about with one hand easily, spacers on rear drums to keep profile right (spacerdrums I think).

Tyres: Yoko A008's all round

Suspension: MiniSpares Rose Jointed fulll adjustable bottom arms, MiniSpares fully adjustable rose jointed tie rods. AVO adjustable shocks all around, standard rear camber and toe in.

Electrics:All electrics fused and ignition and fuel pump on relay with inertia switch *happy* Jaguar XJS battery in battery box, terminal clamps changed to clamp type rather than screws.

Interior: Standard Mayfair Velour, steam cleaned. Standard right hand side 2 clock instrument pack with boost gauge added.
TWIN electric fan heaters for the windows, wired into switch on auxiliary panel (where the fog lamp switch is).

Alpine 6 cd changer + tape head unit, JBL 6x9 inch speakers in the rear shelf (had to replace the mess that a previous muppet had made). Electric front wing antenna *smiley*

The intention was to have a very straight looking car on the outside to make it less bandit attractive (and more Q-car)
and then to have a LOT more horses and the control and braking to go with it.

The turbo box is seam welded (came from Avonbar) and has plenty of space, the engine mounts have been moved forward by 10mm to add clearance.

I have loved this vehicle, it took me a long time to build up, but I've got to sell. I'm advertising it here as it really needs a good home. *smiley*

Might put this on ebay but I thought i'd offer it here first, before I let it out to the muppets.

Photographs to follow - the build process was loosely documented at www.ximphony.org under the "Metallic Moron" page.

Any offers, call on 07787 555010 and leave a message, or email eab109@ximphony.org. Any questions, leave them here or by email.

Cheers,
Edwin

Cheers -
The plenum is plugged and has a diaphragm dump valve cunningly attached.

forgot to mention that there is also a large box of spares:-

Intercooler pipe for plenum

Old style-Boost Retard setup (microdynamics)

T3 turbo - working, non smoky but used +manifold,
2 plenums + elephant trunk,
Turbo Carb + 2 manifolds,
Standard actuator + turbo flanges.
Fuel regulator and bleed valve.

Pressed steel rocker cover (chrome),

1293 CC (+20) N/A pistons on rods,

1275 CC pistons on rods (bit of carbon!),

Stage3 N/A 1293 head (valves but no rockers),

Couple of verto flywheels + cluch plates +a lever arm.

More bits to come,
Sad Edwin

mike - you don't see a price because the bods here know the basic value, its just what its worth to *you* <grin>!

I'll post the photos that were used for insurance at http://www.ximphony.org/moron.html

These were taken prior to the interior being steam cleaned, the underbonnet tidied up and the Mk1 grille fitted !

oiro = offers in the region off *smiley*

Its always worth putting something down for a round figure. I know i prefer it. If you dont want to then fair enough but i reckon it will help. save wasted time.
