I've found some nice 90 deg angled Festo connectors at work that I was thinking about using in my manifold to hook up MAP sensor, dump valve, boost gauge and idle valve.

However ID bore size is 2.3mm and that of the DV and idle valve are about 3.5mm.

I searched and found people use vac hoses of anywhere between 1.5 (extrema case I think) to 6mm.
On the MS forum I recall reading 3mm ID.

Anybody any idea if using just over 2mm ID will create issues when using this for above?

Dazed and Confused....

I doubt that 2mm will be enough for the idle valve.

Thanks for your reactions.

Why is that Paul?

Initialy I thought it might be a bit slow as there is servo-ish construction with a volume that needs to be 'vucuumed' hence a larger ID would allow volume to be drawn out faster.
However having a DV placed for initial boost dump then have the idle valve taking over, there should be enough time for the idle valve to pick up.

Ready back the above I think I should have made more clear I ment the idle valve (part throttle valve) needed for a blow through supercharger set-up:

I did not mean the ACV; is that what you were commenting on Paul?

I was commenting on the idle valve. What you are taliking about is a bypass valve. If there is no flow, then you should be OK.

You're correct Paul, it's a bypass valve.
I copied the wording from another thread without thinking about creating confusion.

Thanks for you comments though.

I found that I needed 4mm to get my dumpvalve dumping.
