mg metro cam
4 pin diff
12psi
maybe a bit of megajolt thrown in too.

Others may be more qualfied to comment.

Was talking with a mate yesterday. We basically settled on that same spec for his car, but with mirage fanimolds.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

yeh read through it but i not say which pistons he used. i have two good complete blocks one with flat top and one with dished.

i though the dished would be better to lower the comp ratio
but the flat tops may be thicker not to burn holes in the top. but they could be the same thickness would not know.

The 20 hour Turbo used standard flat top pistons. You will ony get melting problems if your setup is poor or you over boost.

ok. what would u recommend.
it think the dished pistons will be better to lower the comp ratio. might get away with a 940 head.

If you have dished I would use those. Do the CR calcs and see where you get to.

Near Paris - France

You're after a 7cc dish (12G295 = 28.4, 12G940 = 21.4) as a 12G295 gives around 9 to 1 on flat top pistons in a 998.

You can calculate the dish from the stated CR from your model as a 998 head is supposedly 24.5 cc.

You can also measure it ...

i thought 998 standard dished pistons were 4 ring type so not really the best type to use???

one day boost will be mine!

The 20773 will stand a decent amount of boost no problem. The issue is the circlip fitment. Best to use buttons.

ah, ok. I've got it in my head from somewhere on here about not using 4 ring pistons, might be something to do with 1275's maybe then. Or I'm just not remembering right full stop.
Also I was taking to an engine builder who said he prefers using circlip pistons and has had no issues revving up to 8/9 k with them. Is it to do with the boost that makes them pop off?

The circlips have always been a problem, boost or no boost. It's high revs that make them fail then funk your bores.
