(Mods move if need be, I am on sure where to put it, as its a where to get or what have you got post)

I have been thinking / looking around for a carbon boot lid or fibreglass and maybe a bonnet for some time.

Now I don’t know what would be best for me CF / FG I would like to keep the same lock / fittings as for the bonnet it’s on pins anyway so it should fit ok.

I don’t what to pay S##t loads for them. But I know you get what you pay for.

So has anyone got anything sat about?

Websites I have looked at-

http://www.curleyminishop.co.uk/Fibre-Glas...ior_B24FL4.aspx

http://carbonweezel.co.uk/projects/index.html

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Vehicle-Parts-Ac...d=p3286.c0.m359

Thanks Simon.

i had a boot and a bonnet from the arc angels, fitted brilliantly...

i think it takes them a while to get them dispatched though, unless you waited untill the bingley hall show next month to pick them up

A mate of mini recently bought a single skin one from abs. Hinge indents are there and it's more than man enough for the job.
A double skin one should do, they do them in mk1 style too mate.

I bought a dash from ABS and there service was spot on, and price very reasonably!

TBH I don't think there is very much (if any difference) in weight between FG and carbon, so unless your going for exposed weave carbon probably wouldn't be worth the extra cost.

O right, I thought CF was stronger? also it will be sprayed to keep the car looking as it is.

In that case get fg, for the purpose of a bonnet and boot it's not worth the extra cost

I have a double skin boot from TDK (Only place I could find that did a double skin MK3+ lid). That's fitted with standard hinges and catch. Fit looks good.

Got my bonnet from ABS, as others have said the service is very good. Also, if you are 16vminiclub member you get discount.

CF is stronger, but with regards to the boot and bonnet, I can't see the need for having any substantial structural strength, especially as you have a steel front end.

Simon, I have a carbon boot lid that I bought off Longy and it has all of the holes for badges, lock, number plate hanging bracket etc. I was going to fibreglass over most of these as im not using them.

I might sell it and buy a new FG one that doesn't have any holes as it would be easier for me.

Hello...

I have a Carbon fibre double skin boot lid, my is from TheArcAngels it fits like that, it's a bit curve in the middle, so the fit it's not the best one in this case. The boot lid is very light and it has only one layer.

The bonnet is from them too and it's 1cm shorter then the original, is gave me some headaches wen i was treating the body work, it´s also double layer.

In this case, if you could aford i recomend you the CarbonWeezel. i have a friend that have some bits and they are better, but also more expensive.
