Hey all,

If any of you have seen my other posts on my Build Thread and me looking for Seam sealer you will know where I am with the build at present.

Basically I am debating whether to remove the old Fuel and brake line holders on the underside of the floor and replace them for clips, and need to make my mind up pretty snappy before i paint the underside, So.......

Removing the Factory fit ones;

And replacing with something like these (Sorry I cant remember whose post i grabbed this pic from a while ago but I like them)

Where can I buy some like the clips above or similar and do you think its worth doing ? I am going to be renewing ALL brake and Fuel Lines.

Thanks
Jamie. *happy*

They are called P clips, just google that.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

I thought they where, wasn't sure if they where "P Clips" or fixed on both side like a Saddle used on Conduit.

Wicked so just these;

If you are using all standard pipes then I'd be tempted to stick with what's there, but if using large bore pipe then using P-clips is a neeter solution.

The only thing with P clips is that the fixing comes through the floor causing a place for rust to start plus the end of a self tapping screw can look ugly so a small nut and bolt would look better

I seriously doubt it!

Ive just bought some plactic P clips from ebay. Im planning on welding some M6 nuts to the underside of the floor as my fuel lines are routed inside. I agree with Paul, that self tappers through the floor are a bit nasty and prone to causing rust.

I fixed mine with rivets and sealed the holes with paint and a dod of wax to finish. You can see the rivet come through but its not bad

Why not use rivets instead of self tappers?
For how often theyre going to come off i'd have thought it would be a tad more waterproof if you put a dab of silicone over the hole before fixing down, then wipe off the excess?

Quick question, if you use self tappers, does the end come through the floor on the inside?

Speed doesn't kill, suddenly becoming stationary, now that's what'll get ya!

Yeah it would. You could use the rivets from the inside out if you have an extra pair of hands

Ignore what I said earlier. These are what I'm using:

Seen similar on modern cars, should be fairly neat. Bob of silicon round the hole and it should be spot on

Evening all !

Thanks for your posts.

Craig I do like your ones you made, i am interested to know how you made them :)

Thanks Andy, I'll have a look through what clips they do when I am on the laptop.

Hi Wil, I am going to be using standard pipes for the brakes, fuel pipes I haven't looked into using anything different from the standard size, should I ? Hadn't thought about it.

All standard pipe fixings came off of the mini this afternoon =D

P.s I was thinking of using Rivets for the seal and also how rarely these will be removed......

21mm going by the measurements on the add. I'm going to tuck them up the tunnel a little (well clear of the exhaust), so they'll be fine. *smiley*
