Is there any need to introduce any bracing or additional strengthening to the rear of the car after doing this?

I'm intending to fit a fibreglass boot floor to allow the fitment of a low, wide fuel tank but feel that removing the boot floor without a subframe will somewhat leave that area a little weak given the loads the turrets will see during hard bumpy cornering and the odd hump back bridge jump. would it be beneficial to add some sort of bracing between the towers that take an element of load to the rear seat back like the DON, or just mount the fuel tank higher up and leave the steel floor alone. it just makes sense to mount the tank as low as possible to reduce the centre of gravity.

Pictures of soulutions always welcome

I reckon something like this would be sufficient:

Would be better if you could tie it into a cage if you have one.

To be honest i'd have tied the cage in to it when I had the chance, however like many things the car has gone waaaay further then I ever intended it too!

Looking at it I might just weld a big gusset up from the outside of the turrett, to the back of the rear seat.

This will be the least heavy solution!

If I ever get round to doing this on my shell I was thinking of leaving a little extra metal and making a lip/crease to add a little more strength

As well as a brace between the turrets

I was recommended by a miglia builder to brace it between the struts then triangulate it, from all the migs i've looked at they are integrated into the cage so this seems the next best way to go, and how i plan to do it.

This pic might help.

I have a stressed alloy floor but if I did more road driving than I do Id brace between the turrets like simon has in his MK1

I seriously doubt it!

Also i'm sure i've seen yours hill climbing in pictures, so i would definitely brace it due to the extra stress.

In that case I will brace between the towers and plate the turrets to the rear seat back. I feel some swaged holes coming on!

Cheers Guys.
