Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

anything can be done with time, money and expertease (sp?!) just never as easy as sticking to an a series transplant.

dont get hung up on the fact you cant find a complete metty turbo, its not needed at all. Most people only use a handful of bits from them. the rest is all new or modified. thats if you want to go the high performance/reliable route anyway.

If you've seen an Allspeed fram, you'd be best contacting allspeed then... or go onto www.16vmini.co.uk and find the forums...

Why a Fiesta RS Turbo? It's not a particularily good engine compared to others..
I'm A-series all the way, but if I was to change, I'd use a "good" designed engine.

my thinking, honda vtec or vauxhall 2l, both can be turbo'd, both have subdframes available off the shelf

But for me it is all about being different an there are laods of vaux and v-tec conversions. i know i want an rs turbo conversion as the tunning for the ford engines is very extensive. i can never turn down a challenge. anways i got a garage to work on it now so can start stripping my mini down.

Choose a decent different engine then, not some iron crap invented in the fifties. That's original :)

I know it's nice to be different (my 998 turbo was once, now there's loads, well I haven't actually seen one or heard that one is complete yet, but there will be, I digress). but VTEC and K-series conversions are the most popular because they make the most engineering sense, i.e. availability, cost, size etc.

Having said that, if you think an RS turbo conversion is going to work (rather than just be different) then good luck.

I'd consider Toyota 4AGE engine though. It's getting good press atm.

i keep thinking about something like a 106gti motor or something. 120bhp and a good engine. would be fun in a clubby. need to get the turbo sorted first mind

rs turbo motors are kicking around, and are not as rare as you'd think. there has been 3 on ebay in the last few months
