I have been installing backbox's in the new house ready for sat/fm/tv in all the rooms.

Couple of things has anyone installed a disribution box? was thinking of this:
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MXHDU681.html

And there seems to be two types of cable pf100 and RG6, not sure whats the best to install i presume pf100 as its more expensive lol

I can't help you with the amplifier as we have a team of ariel fitters that sort out that side of it.

But we put the boxes on and if your going to be using triax plates like below, then i recommened using deep boxes as the triax plates are quite deep and you need lots of room when screwing them back.

Just to save you finding this out and having to redecorate again! *angry*

Neil,

for the cable the general rule is if the run is less than about 25m you can use rg6,
also the signal from the dish to the distribution box and from the distribution box to the sky box will be 950-2150Mhz,
the signals from the RF2 port of the sky box back to the return port of the distribution box, and from the outputs of the distribution box to the remote rooms will be 5-860 Mhz.
make sure you use the PF100 from the dish > distrubution box > skybox as its higher frequency.

Lab gear stuff is meant to be pretty good, where I work we make a similar item (but not as good as it dosent have the sat2 ports for sky plus)

Mate i used to do this as a job with my Dad, doing shops like dixons / hotels / flats you get my drift and the best cable i found with the less loss was ct100.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.
