Very nice matt, everything looks well thaught through and the detail is great.

Man you've been through some engines,at least you have a good idea on the different aspectson turbo, charger, webbers, and what the different cam's etc are capable of.

Oh and i forgot to ask...

Is the subframe and the other parts powdercoated?

If so how are they standing up to the test of time?

debating wether to powdercoat my frames or por-15 them :)

Yes, there power coated. Everything is holding up fine, due to low mileage. I know from experience it does wheather and can flake off. You have to make sure you use blocks to jack it up etc. For an everyday car, I'd use paint.

Such a clean car, just as amazing as your red one. Jealous of all the engines too, interested in what you have planned next.

Just a quick update. After sererval months off working on minis due to new baby and house move, ive managed to get some time on the new engine install.

Sorry about images

Engine is now up and running, but needs fully mapping. The fuel pipes need finishing,

Quick update. Over autumn ive removed the webcon 7 port head to make way for a more drivable motor. Ive been running the SC 5 port kit since then and gone back to a SW5 camshaft and stage 4 head. The car is amazing to drive and I must say the SC kit is a very good bit of kit. Software and mapping is straight forward. I just need to sort cold starts out.

Only 1 problem , the car is now boring and a little slow! *frown* , but perfect for around town and MPG.

Maybe this will help. I Just can't let the 7 port idea drop, but this time turbo ??

Interior as also changed several times, but im quite happy with the leather trimmed Elise seats.

Matt have you thought of fitting a shorter diff ratio ? 3.4:1 ? That will make it quicker out of the blocks.

"So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"
"Same thing we do evernight Pinky!"

Currently fitted with 3.1 Final drive, but cars as seen a 2.76 & 3.44. I found the 3.44 too much for motorway stuff & 2.76 just not enough. My other car had a 4.1 when fitted with the 1380 race engine and it was mental.

Too much debt more like. I sold the Webcon head to pay of my credit card. Then the specialist components head was such bargain I just couldn't resist. 5 port kit will be up for sale very soon.

You should do a thread with all the engines and do a quick write up as to what the good and bad points are.

Rick.

Making progress slowly.

Plans are to get the engine up and running N/a for a while. Then in summer get a new block, pistons, MD274 cam with a custom 7 port Matty manifold & single throttle body custom alloy plenum etc.
