Going to be rebuilding my subframes soon. Got red dot cones, the protech dampers, adjustable arms n tie bars along with rebuild kits for radius and front arms. Anyother upgrades I should consider? Is the area around the driveshaft hole double skinned as I fancy enlargeing it but not it will need welding after (welder needs fixing).
Also read sumwhere that using hydro top arms on my dry setup will improve handling?
Any help/ info would be great.

The socket cup for the knuckle on hydro arms is further outboard so gives a stiffer effect on your cones by giving more leverage.
Use solid mounts to attatch the subframes

I seriously doubt it!

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Do away with all the rubber and use rose joints through out.

Oh, not for a road car. Nice polly bushes will be good enough withe the solid mounted frame

Read somewhere about mixing polybushes and uprated minispares bushes together to stop the polybushes from cracking/splitting? Does that sound right or shud i just order a polybush kit?

To be honest the quality of the repro rubber bushes these days are rubbish and by the time you fit them they'll need doing again..quite literally! lol

Poly bushes are a much better bet for the long term.

And that is what I love about this forum variety in build spec mine is solid through out and I get the feel I want some say to stiff for a road car and it will rattle your teeth out some say poly it's too stiff as well. May this site continue the debate.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

I just bought the adjustable suspension kit from minispares - had bottom arms, tie bars and all the bushes etc you need. The kit had a mixture of rubber and poly bushes, so I'll see how I get on with them and how long they last...

Based on this, anybody got a spare set of wet to arms?

If I'm not going to lighten my frame with holes would you bother to stiffen/strengthen it ?

Lots of us brace the bracket at the front for the bottom arm tie bars

I seriously doubt it!

Think ill have a look n see if i can see some of them brace bits, lightening the top arm seems a good idea too.
