I wonder if these would be strong enough to hold up a whole steel front end

Instead of a steel flip front, you would have a steel flip back

I have quick release bonnet hinges from Mini mail, £11. Allow you to either raise and prop the bonnet as normal or take it off in 1 second. No holes through the bonnet, simple light and easy.

Hey guys this is Ben from Minivation. The new version 2.0 hinges will be available from the 16th of April. We've made a bunch of modifications to them including an auto lock out have a look at the images.

We've also reduced the weight, we'll update the website with the latest product pics as soon as we have them but in the meantime, here is a picture of the latest version. There are pictures of the old version fitted to two different minis on our website and our facebook page if you want to see them.

hmm tried attaching a pic to that message, I'll chuck some up on the website and let you know when they are up. The design has changed alot. They are now high polished laser cut stainless steel, with an auto lockout and improved stop out....

Can these support a flip front? From the pictures I would have to say no. They don't look sturdy enough and the pivots look to be riveted, I would look for something thicker with bushes and bolted hinges.

Two answers in one go...
No I wouldn't recomend using these for a flip front, they are designed for a steel bonnet only.
We are working on the clubman conversion bracket. We can add you to our list of people to contact when they're ready if you like?
