Great forum! With a lot of super knowledge for at beginner.

I live in denmark and is the lucky owner of a 1275 SPi, but want a litle more power without going mad and without loosing lowend power :) I can get hold on a very well prised VNT 15 watercoled turbo and have the tools needed to make a electronic controller and manifold. Can any of your tell me if there is space for a VNT 15 turbo without any cutting in the bulkhead?

Cheers,

Jens

The VNT 15 is an upgrade of the gt15 from what i can find, and considering its smaller than the commonly used gt17 it should be no problem.

If you fancy a VNT, you'll need to go a lot larger than the 15.

Someone on here was using the 17 which was also too small.

For reference, Joe C is using a GT25""VNT.

Also, I'd have thought that you would need a bulkhead box with a VNT because the exhaust housing is usually larger to contain the variable vane gubbins.

Plus the acuator sticks out the side... usually in the most awkward place possible.

also my GT2559v makes 10psi by 3k rpm, normally a turbo that size on a 1.4 wouldnnt think of boositng till well over 4k.

Thanks for the ansvers.

Its a GT1749LV hope that it is large enough for around 90~100HP. The exhaust house is approximate 135 mm at the largest place and the same is the presure house.

Do you think that there is space for this? If any of you have pictures of installations without bulkhead modifications then I would like to see them before i start taken it all apart.

You will need an external wastegate if you are adamant about using that turbo.

Why not measure the space you have between the block and bulkhead?

Hi apbellamy, I have tried, but to get good measurement I think that I need to remove the injection etc. And I would like input from you who have done it before and know all the secrets 8-)
Hope thats ok.
