Gents, just been to a fabricator and he has quoted me £80 to tig 3 breather outlets onto my ally rocker cover. Just wondering what you thought price wise? I'm more than happy to pay peoples wages but it's more than I can charge for 3 hours work and there would be about 300mm max in ally pipe materials wise?

Any thoughts? He doesn't want to do it, and so has priced it accordingly.

Ha ha, cheers Tom. He was actually keen as mustard to do it though, maybe he thinks I am minted. I'll just have a chat with him and tell him its more than what I expected.

I'd have thought £50/60 myself, an hours labour + a little, and materials. If you're fitting 90 Degree takeoffs that's possibly where the extra cost lies. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

drill and tap. Plastic would probably work, but brass, steel or alloy would be better.

Went back to see him with my dog, said I wasn't happy with the cost and he asked what kind of price I was thinking... told him £40 so we met at £50. Happy days. |
