So does anyone use this? I don't have a clue what it is, but have been advised that it's good free advertising for a business (not sure people would want to follow me any way but tehre you go!)

Never used it and don't plan to either.

i would keep clear also mat and of face book .......... it gave my mate more restless nights and pain due to his hidden skelitons with women etc...........it drove him insane!

I use it. It's for following intrests, motoring, your football team etc.

Nothing like Facebook were you follow your 'friends'.

To be honest it probably does have some positive points towards the business side of things. Its just you here at least one story a day on the news about some low life 'celeb' or footballer tweeting something they shouldn't of, and gets boring hearing about it after a while.

You do have to follow joey Barton it's a rule of twitter, lol. Sometimes he makes sense, most of the time it's the rantings of an over paid brat.

i do prefer it to facebook as i find it less intrusive. for me its more a conversation tool with some people and to follow my interests.

from a business perspective it can be an amazing tool using hash tags. although i've not fully caught on to this concept as i forget about them :p

basically i follow these pie making people @pieminister; two weeks ago friday was just a normal friday. now thanks to hash tag friday is now "#pieday" cornie i know but think of the ££££ this brings them as they have restaurants placed in london and bath i think.

very powerful if used correctly but i find its hard to get noticed being such a massive audience.

I don't use it and hardly use the book of faces but you hit the nail on the head for business types the audience spectrum it would seem by the posts are very focussed, huge. And especially if like most that have posted say it's good for following your interests, give it a try if you find it a pain don't use it. I am sure we all have forum accounts we find surplus to requirements

Own the day

We use twitter for work, helps let people know what is going on. I'm sure if swiftune or KAD were on it tou'd be interested in what they were up to? I'd certainly follow them, they could tweet about race results, special offers or latest bhp figures on customers engines. Think of it as micro blogging.
