Hi all here's my question. The outlet from the t3 turbo is about 40mm and the plenum inlet is about the same.

40mm will in theory be better than 50mm at that power. The only reason most stick with 50mm is that it's cheaper and more readily available. Also lot's of the most suitable ICs use 50mm. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I have an intercooler from a 1.7 tdi astra which looks to be a reasonable size and should offer some quite good cooling. I just don't want to enlarge the volume to much so tht boost takes even longer as I belive t3 turbos take a while to get wound up

To be honest, if you do the maths you won't really notice the differance. But keeping it all 40mm will be good. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

My intercooler uses 2.5" inlet and outlet into a Maestro Turbo plenum chamber (2.5" inlet) and it comes on boost about 2200 and that's on a t3. Own the day

Ok guys I will have a search around for some pipe work. Would it be ok to use 40mm from the turbo to cooler then 50 from the cooler?

Just use 2", it's easier, bends are readily available etc.
