Hi everyone,

Just a quick comment for the people who have not seen the discussion on the end of another recent thread concerning David Vizard.

At Uni today, the head of Motorsport announced that Mr Vizard will be carrying out a seminar and engine dyno tests at Swansea Metropolitan University on the 7th-9th September 2012. It has been mentioned that he may be using one of Endaf's Miglia engines for some testing on the siamese port inlet pressures and possibly some tests on various camshafts. This is what I was told today so I cannot gaurantee that this will definately be featured, but im sure whatever topics are covered, it will be an interesting seminar and the facilities at the University are very good too. Im sure other members (Jimster and Paul S) know more than I do, so please feel free to add.

Here is a link (Thanks Yo-Han) http://www.davidvizardseminars.com/ue-Swansea-1012.html

Unfortunately not, my current method of not having a clue what I'm doing with engines is working quite well- I don't want to jinx it!

It's cheap too.... At £350 a person for a days seminar I think I'll be missing this one.

I'd have loved to go and even upto £100 I might have gone... But £350? It's a fucking joke.

At the end of the day he is running a professional seminar aimed at professional engine builders.

He is not running it as something to go to if you are mildly interested in Mini engines.

I would speculate it is priced to keep the dickheads away TBH.

Can I just point out Almichie that it is not a "days seminar" but it is over 3 days. It is not just a vocal seminar but involves using the university's dynomometer and other engine test equipment. Well worth the money in my opinion and im sure that such a prominent figure in the world of A series tuning will not dissappoint.

I agree with Tom too. The price is also to discourage the more narrowminded but he must make a living too.

Hey Dan, Yes, me and Adam are both contemplating going. It just depends on timing.

I've just got back from this, very informative, I can't give much away as I had to sign an nda. Covered some very interesting topics in some very interactive sessions. Port injection, turbocharging etc where all explained. Showed some pretty cool stuff live on the Dyno too there. Other speakers included Dave mountain sharded a lot of secrets id never heard if before as used in current touring car engines. mike parry who explained I depth how Endafs miglia engine was built. Dave walker also talking about engine mapping.

I'm impressed with how up to date mr Vizard is with the latest technogly and teens in engine building and tools. Cnc heads, computer simulation and Cfd etc etc

Nope. Martin from Manchester Minis was the only person to drive there in a mini ( I'm shotgun). There was another mini at the one of the venue's, but I think that was coincidence.

It didn't really matter in the end, it was an all round great weekend.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

sounds cool although bit shit not being able to discuss it. although im sure the reasons for this are logical; even if it does make talking about it boring as you cant talk about it. sounds like a masons gathering *tongue*

I think the NDA was to cover the other speakers more than Vixards, a lot of secrets of the championship winning miglia engine, and current touring car engines discussed in detail from Mike Parry and Dave Mountain.

Dave, I got student discount as I just complated my tig welding course *happy*

I agree with jim, it was an excellent few days. Anybody that didn't go to this because they think that Mr V is out of touch with things is a fool. Despite being nearly 70 this guy never stops & is well clued up. Certainly glad I went.

Well I spent the week in London getting a little tipsy...

I was going to go but I would never have understood it so a waste of a seat no doubt I would have found it interesting but then so was London:)
Glad it was good

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I fully intended on going to this one, as I'd spent time with Dave, Dave and Mike back in January and they were hoping to have Nick Swift there as well.

Sadly, race prepping my pedal car came first...

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
