I am nearing the stage of getting my engine block machined but my problem is the machinist I want to use is a long distance away and I dont have the time to drive up there.

Has anyone had experience with a good courier company that they could recommend, and can anyone estimate me a rough price. *(possibly a silly question as it depends on mileage).

Many Thanks

I used to use national palletts to send whole engines:

http://www.nationalpallets.co.uk/

last mini engine I sent using them cost £50 for pick up and delivery that was like 6 hours away from me and it was a whole engine.

I used them to ship the 1.8 16v I put in my clio as well, was around £75 to get it shipped from the top of scotland to Wootton Bassett (it worked out as around 500 odd miles each way)

Parcel to go. Think it was about 13.50 to send a block within the uk last time.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I got a pallet with a defender gearbox and transfer box weighing 120kg delivered by that outfit for £65 quid. can't complain about that.
