not sure how you all go about things on ebay.

I put something up for sale on a buy it now last weekend. got some interest and then first thing monday morning I got an email to confirm item had been sold. Since then, i've had no communication from the buyer despite polite requests to confirm when thy intend to settle up and confirm that I'd dispatch asap after.

If I hit the buy it now button, i generally pay immediately although I appreciate it isn't always that simple depending on individual circumstances. What miffs me is no communication, particularly as I had other serious interest.

Now the question is, how long would you guys reasonably leave without payment or communication before raising issue with the ebay?

Mental note to remind self to put on next ad that payment must be made within 24hrs!

Rob

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I'd give it 7 days, then sell it off ebay to the other person interested. If the original buyer contacts you take the money then leave it however long they leave it to contact you to give the money back...see how they like it? :)

I always pay immediately unless it's cash on collection. I think 5 - 7 days without payment then raise an ebay dispute.

Im the same as you Rob, if i have no intention of pay immediately, i simply don't click the button. It's like going into a shop and saying, i'll pay for it next time i come in, they're not going to accept that!

You can list a buy it now auction with imediate payment, so that anyone wishing to buy it now can only do so, if they complete the payment process at th time they buy it now. Takes then straight to their paypal account.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

good call - i didn't realise you had to set that up; I remember a few buys i've had required immediate payment but didn't realise it didn't apply to all.

I think I'll give them 7 days - the length of the original sale before raising a dispute. I consider that reasonable

Ebay must have something on that subject in their FAQ.

eBay rules say payment within 7 days of auction end, regardless of whether you write on the ad payment within 24 he's etc. I do bid on items and message at the end of the auction stating exactly when I'm going to pay. As per eBay rules. How ever I never click buy it now unless I have the cash to 'buy it now' I know the rules for buy it now items are different to auctions as they can be set to require instant payment.

one day boost will be mine!
