You do not need a reverse light.
Im unsure on the fog light, but i placed mine bottom right of the rear window sat on a bracket from the parcel shelf, it then falls perfectly into regulation, and doesnt look shit *wink*
Never had any problems with glare from the one occasion i did use it. But try and 'seal' it to the window anyway.

Don't need either on a clubman. Reverse and fog lights came in mid eighties

Mine is a Mk1 so i don't need reverse or fog lights and I don't want to clutter up the back of the car. However i have wired my brake lights switchable as fog lights to be used in extreme weather. Illegal, but at the end of the day I would rather be seen by that Juggernaut behind me in the fog rather than squished

I have a 1980 1275 GT and that needs to have the fog light fitted, but my 1979 Clubman doesn't

According to this:

http://www.ukmot.com/mot_check.asp#information7

You have to have fog lights if your car was first used on or after 1st April 1980.
