Just a quick one. Iv got a standard metro turbo engine and have just stripped it down for a rebuild. Im needing to get a set of camshaft bearings. Can i buy and fit a set of bearings for a 1275 or do i have to try and find ones for a metro turbo

All cam bearings are the same. Just make sure you align the oil holes !

Is it a job you can do at home easily? Or do they need to be pressed in??

You need a special tool to make sure you get them in straight without squashing them.

Stevie - 998 and 1275 bearings are different *wink*

yes you need a special tool as apbellamy says above - I found out the hard way a couple of weeks ago. If the camshaft doesnt literally push in then its all wonky and needs sorting out - dont hammer it in like I did, craigfail :(

I used these bearings, but two sets of them for the above reason:

All big bore ones are the same. However, you can fit 998 ones in a 1275 but not vice versa.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
