If you look closer you will see that the terminals are piggy backs in case I want another spur off them, never seen insulated piggy backs, not been able to buy any that are insulated..

presuming its the oe loom, and assuming(which is poor form of me i guess) its of a decent vintage it will be unfused, that said fused or not i dont think its safe, neither do i like the uninsulated connector for the indication lamp, which, if the switch is in the on position upon insertion or removal of the panel will short out.

could have worded that original post better, comes across as pretty condensing, apologies :)

It’s a MK3 or MK4 loom that I have fitted and modified, I know what your saying but to be honest if your going to play around with the panel at all, I would take off the battery lead because the terminals by there design don’t push all the way on so you can still short out terminal by accident.. fair enough i only know cause i got caught out in my first mini and pulled the headlight switch with the sidelights on *tongue* lots of little experiences like that has made me very paranoid about electrics especially when working on older cars like ours where standards were lower.

Why do you need the part numbers, the only switches you can buy now from anywhere are imports and they won’t have the same numbers as genuine switches.. Alan
