Just on the way to visit my gran and I bump my car. Only round the corner (next street) and with the sun glaring on my screen I hit a parked old pickup, caught it by an inch as just managed to turn a bit. I've creased my bonnet where i went under, put a hole in front screen and smashed passenger window and bent door frame. Feel such a Cock but it was parked on a bad corner, up a slope, 10 foot off a junction and stupid sun was low.

To top all that off the garage my insurance use have their phones down, Arrrrr.

Gona try n find the book price for an 05 clio now.

Confirmed its a wright off. They want me to send sum documents off including receipt of purchase and service history. I got it from an auction 15 months ago and paid 3100 with a recomended price of 4500 which is what the local garages were selling them for. As i was planning on keeping the car for my lass to learn to drive in I've been servicing it myself so the service history isn't as good on paper. They say that if i dont send service history it will be reflected in the offer. Gona be buzy tomorrow looking for all my receipts for the bits n bobs I've got and replaced for it.

Tell them it's not about the value of that car, it's about the value of the replacement car. Find a few examples of similar cars on ebay/autotrader and just send them them as valuations.

as andy says. It would be useful to give as much info as possible to support the servicing though.

and don't send them originals yet; the car is still yours until you agree a figure with them - unless you signed something when it was recovered that is
