I started with a standard 998cc mini in pritty good nick cosidering it a G reg 89-90 and after about a week on the road the bottom hose decided to pop off the rad and i wasnt in any position to stop so i jus fryed it this pissed me right off so i bought a rebuilt metro turbo engine cut a long story short i cut the bulk head done all the work to get the engine in but i havent got it running due to the amount of other things i didnt realise i needed not as easy and straight forward as i hoped.
Basically all i need is from what i know so far

All coolant hoses
Extra fan and hopefully upgraded rad
Not a clue what to do about the turbo pipes and intercooler
Fuel lines
Electrical fuel pump
Fuel pressure regulator
Oil pressure gauge
Dash and centre console

You do not need half of that, have a look on turbo phils site, there is a list of what you need.

Hi Stuck.

Have a look at the topped threads and turbo-mini.com.

All that you 'need' out of that list is the pressure regulator and fuel line.

Welcome, but I don't get why you decided to carry on driving with the temp skyhigh?
Wasn't a smart decision, I hope you have a good read-up on everything, and if anything is wrong, stop driving and call recovery. Otherwise you can kiss your new engine goodbye faster than you can say 'metro turbo engine'

Hi thanks everyone for the welcome i dont know why i didnt join earlier been verry helpfull thank you verry much And for all those that didnt understand why i kept driving didnt really fancy stopping in the middle of Epping Forest when it was verry dark so i thought tough engine probly used to breaking down ill try to get the wounded soldier home and i was right got me all the way back to ilford smoked like a steam train and refused to start once switched off i know your probably thinking duhh but in the long run i think it was worth the experience

out of interest how far did you drive with no coolant?

alot furthe than you would think was possible roughly 15 miles give or take but when i say the engine was well and truely cooked i mean cooked when i removed the oil cap its was sizzling like bacon in a hot pan and as i said once it cooled down over night it never started again.

How for from Epping Forrest did you need to drive before feeling safe??

Epping Forest is 12 miles across at it's absolute widest point

So you couldn't do 15 miles in it unless you were driving around in circles.
