Right then I have hijacked my husband Simon's (Madmk1) account to ask you all for some help. Now a few of you know me as the able bodied assistant from Avon and Mini in the Park, but for those that don't I am Simon's long suffering wife (TM widow) Jo. I have been selected and have agreed, albeit foolishly to run the London Marathon this year to raise desperately needed funds for the ABF (Army Benevolent Fund) Soldiers Charity. As you already know Simon is off to play in the sand again soon and the worry starts all over again for those of us left behind with the fear of the dreaded knock on the door.

I am running the marathon in memory of a dear friend of ours who was killed in action in December 2008 and for all of our fallen heroes. So in return for your support I will beg and plead; collect all of your time slips; push your cars down the strip and even pass you tools when your mini needs some tender loving care; and I am a dab hand with a throw away bbq. So have I bothered to put down the (Large) glass of wine and medium pizza? Begrudginly yes! and I have run a few half marathons already in preparation and have a 20 mile :( race in March prior to the big one on April 22nd.

In summary if you could dig deep for such a worthy cause and help make the painful knees, aching muscles and blistered feet worthwhile we would really appreciate it. To make it easier I have opened a just giving account which goes directly to the ABF Soldiers Charity and you can access it via
