I've posted in the 998 section, usually looking for help or input. Sometimes I get a response.

Anyway, I typically preface the post with the intended application (why I'm building and asking). The link above gives a far better introduction to it all.

(and if anyone is ever in the US and wants to try this, shoot me a message)

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

sounds very funny !

At some point I was fancying setting up a series only open to N/A diesel with a maximum capacity of 2 liters.

Obviously it is a lot of work to set up a race series ...

The authorities probibly wouldn't allow it.

We do have Lawnmower racing though. That looks like a good laugh as well!

LeMons is an absolute blast and I'm thoroughly hooked. It was a low-risk way to get involved in motorsport.

All one needs is a valid driver's license (even a UK license), the proper safety gear, and a team to drive with. Some folks (like me) have multiple cars and welcome any driver who can pay for 1/4 of the operating costs to bring a car and run it for the weekend (entry fee, brakes, tires, oil, fuel). Typically that's about $600 USD arrive-and-drive each. All you need is your own food and booze money (no booze while track is hot, though). Obviously cars that burn more fuel cost more to operate. Some guys want a damage deposit in case you hit someone and total out the car.

I'd always wanted to try racing a mini and this allowed me to do it. Sure, it's like bringing a spoon to a knife fight that everyone else brought an RPG to, but so what. With 120-160 other cars on track, there's always someone to "race". I tried Vintage racing a mini (after having tried LeMons) and it was boring and expensive. Sold the vintage car and just do this 4-5 times a year.

Looks like great fun. I am sure the mini could be made quicker, but that might take the fun element out of it.

They turboed it !

Lemon shape is surely not helping with the balance of the car thought ...

Actually there are some cars that barely deserve the name of Lemon : I think I saw a 240 Z or the like ...
