Folks,

What are you guys using to seal up the floor around where the rod goes through the floor?

I wondered if one of these would be a good idea? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/f...l-grommet-seals

That seal in the pic you posted,I had the same idea and its still in the shed. As the hole is on a 45' to the shaft and the floor is not flat there to. I ended up cutting a box in to the floor.

Ah, I get you now. I had wondered the same. I do have some neoprene sheet on a roll that I could fashion one from I think, but I just thought the Demon thieves one looked tidy.

Anyone else got any photos of what they have done?

This is another idea ive seen on a couple of migs, it uses a steering rack gaiter too.

I supose it depends where you mount the selector housing inside, but I managed to use an old Mk1 porridge stirrer gear stick gaitor, in the place it was designed to fit. Looks like it was supposed to be *happy*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I reckon the mk1 gaiter is the best solution. Shouldn't be too dufficult to fit either.

Cheers folks, just been working on it now and the floor is a really odd shape where my selector rod goes through, I'm going to have to smack it around some more to get some clearance. I'll buy a mk1 type one and hope that it covers the mess I am about to make :(
