Hi I've got a cam here not sure what it is, the numbers on the end are as follows
ABRT 002

Now I know what I've been told it is but just wanna check, also what should this cam be timed in at?

its a phase 2 turbo cam officially timed in at 110deg according to piper .....but

most peeps time it in @ 108 deg......it depents on what your doing with the engine. race, fast road, chav killer, etc.... turbo spec etc ... the list is endless

ABRT002 stands for avonbar racing, turbo....my guess its a reprofiled cam reprofiled cam

We timed the van's phase 2 in at 110 and found it hung on to about 7k for useable power. My clubby is timed in at 107 and seems to be out of puff by about 6k but has a much better idle and low rpm pull.

we deduced that for every 1 deg of say advancment or retartment it eqates to 250 rpm where you need the power to be etc ......

like i said depending on many factors of your build, what you want the engine for

which way do you go on timing im always confused by this?
more advance = higher usable rpm
less advance = lower rpm but more torque down low

Looks that way but I would imagine that it would depend on the type of cam. I reckon if you tried retarding a 286/296 it wouldn't have the same effect
