Hey

I'm having fuel issues, it's leaning out under load, or so I think, I can smell fuel at full throttle and when I took off my Dump valve there is fuel in it. The dump vavle is on the left side of the plenum over the master cylinders. Any ideas?

wont the fuel in the dump valve come from the vacuum tube to the inlet manifold?

one day boost will be mine!

If the DV is mounted very close to the mouth of the carb, it's no surprise some fuel will pass through it.

It'll just get spat back out through the carb when you shut the throttle and the air changes direction. Maybe not huge amounts, but it's going to happen.

Or it's also possible the DV isnt sealing properly under boost, and some is escaping then ( even if the air/fuel should be going into the engine )

Some thing to try is to mount it so any fuel in there can drain back out down the pipe.

I did think it wasn't sealing properly, It's an old diaphragm valve. I have a new one now a piston one and I'm putting it on this weekend. I was just surprised to see fuel in it.

Thanks

uncrew the diagram one and have a look, it should be obvious if it wasnt sealing.

or lust suck/blow on the small pipe.

Make sure you don't get fuel in the piston one. The seals swell up and tear in no time.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Dont mount the DV so close to the carb.

Where is the signal pipe for the valve connected? There is always going to be some fuel vapour there, I would go with an uprated diaphragm much more resistant to fuel. Also do you have a wideband? I would be concerned if there really was fuel coming out the valve from inside the plenum

The pipe is connected to the inlet manifold just in fron tof the carb. I have a sensor yes.
