Went scrapies and got some back plates off a M reg Metro/100 they look like the later mini type ones just the adjusters are different is this the case? or are they really differnt?

My drums fit fine and they fit on the radius arms so i take it they are fine?

thanks Steve

the cylinders are sized to suit the master cylinder and car generally; you may need to do a bit more research to see if they suit your braking system

If you fit metro ones, they may be to kean locking the back wheels up to soon, if that happens you would have to fit an adjustable regulator to set them up correctly.. Alan

Would it really that bad then? Ive read online the cylinders are same size as Mini cooper S and 84 onwards and shoes are same size its just they are got different adjusters but didn't think it really make that happen to be fair. Steve

If they are the same size as you say, then maybe they will be OK.. Alan

Right right right I've done some Research! Into this :) Involved me getting my hands dirty and pulling a few strings also allot of googling! :) so here is what I have found out.

This Is The Metro Set Up

Metro set up Sizes:

Shoe Size:-
178mm x 32mm

Pair of Drums Size:-
Outside Diameter 239mm
Drum Diameter 203mm
Drum Width 48.5mm
Overall Height 72.5mm
4 Stud Fixings at 4 x 100mm

Back Plates are Same Size with Locating pin Is on the opposite side to Mini Wheel cylinders But metro use 1/2" (12.7mm) Bore cylinders same as 1275 GT.

Now

Mini Set up

Shoe Size:-
178mm x 32mm

Drum Size
Mountings 4
Drum Diameter 177.8mm
Maximum diameter 179.0mm
Drum width 47.5mm
Outside diameter 214.0mm
Overall height 60.0mm

Mini had many size Cylinder bores 11/16" 3/4" 1/2" 9/16" 5/8" so on

But the drums do interchange between the back plates and hubs

:) I will edit and add to this as And when I gain even more information

Thanks Stephen
