hi guys,

not been around for a while because of work and stuff. which means the mini hasn't done a lot either, but i'm getting back to her now.

just a quickie, would a garrett gt28 turbo be suitable to use with a set of mirage manifolds?? its off a skyline or something i believe.

thanks

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

bit big id say.

even though the metty runs a T3 its a very small (in sizing wise, not physically!!) turbo.

renault 5's are good, as are a fair few other things.

also with a t28 i think you'd struggle for room. ive got a large ish t2 and its a tight fit.

As a very rough guide, think about the amount of exhaust gas produced per second at a given RPM.

A mini engine of 1293 displacement will produce roughly half the volume of gas per second at a given that a skyline engine of 2600 displacement will at the same revs.

Hence, the mini engine will be needing to rev at twice the speed to produce the volume of gas required to produce boost.......

That is only a very very rough correlation but you get the idea........

i remember checking out the skyline turbo's a while back, and i think the r33 gt-r (RB26DETT motor) uses 2 T25's (GT2556CR) and the A//R was something like a .48 or .49 like the escort RS T3

so the 2.6 with 2 turbo's might be about spot for a 1.3 with 1 turbo

i've got T25 thats pretty similar to the 1 above, and recently found out its exactly the same spec as a hybrid stage 3 for a r5 gt turbo

like iain says though its 2 big to work with the mirage manifolds and thats even with ordering in a different compressor housing from AET to try and help.

go get yourself a T2 off a r5 or r11 turbo, or early S12 silvia

don't be tempted with T25's etc off ebay as most of them are off later 200sx turbo (s13's & s14's) as they have quite a large A/R .64 (i think) and it probably spool up at round 6krpm which will be pretty useless
