Just had the feeler gauges out on the T2, looking at the clearances between the impellers and the housing;

Compressor:
Min Clearance: 10
Max Clearance: 30

Turbine:
Min Clearance: 20
Max Clearance: 40

Side to side movement was pretty much nothing, or at least, nothing measurable.

Is this okay to run? Or will it need a rebuild?

If you have play down the length of the shaft it'll most likely need a rebuild unless it's the tiniest of amounts, that's the impression I've always been under, best to be safe than sorry!
A little side to side is okay, the oil pressure takes that up when it's running.

Thanks, the play down the shaft is almost nothing at all, but as you say, I'd rather be safe than sorry, so i'll look into a rebuild kit.
