Can anyone suggest a downdraught weber for a low boosted [5-8psi] 1200cc motor

Are all weber carbs ok to use with low boost
or do they need seals , float chamber etc changing

You need to search, this has been discussed several times.

As I said in my other post, whay do you want to use a webber over a HIF44?

I did search - but can't find [ I don't get much joy with my searches ?]

the R5 gt is a solex

The reason why is this -

Its for a my Sidevalve Ford 100e which I'm fitting an Eaton45 to with a dummy SU pre charger as a primary choke
I have modified a Metro turbo manifold to fit the Ford Siamese ports

But the above item is just tooo cool

somthing like this should be not to hard to convert I think.

the trouble you will have is most downdrafts the buterflys open one after the other, so you will get unequal flow on that manifold.

Thanks Joe

Still can't get any joy with the search feature

Anyone have any experience
Could I get away with boost referencing the float chamber and leaving the rest of the Weber standard ?
I'm not planning on more than about 8psi boost max

you might get a bit of fuel leakage from the throttle spindles, i'd try it and see...

if it does leak i would think that you can put an o ring on the outside, then a washer to press against the oring, then a spring. thats my plan for my bike throttles anyway.

have checked - its a normal twin choke manifold with common chamber feeding each port
