Have you been looking at the one on eBay by any chance?

Tran X make lots of LSDs. As Paul says, this is the manufacturer.

a vacuum cleaner its often called a hoover, but hoover is a brand of vacuum cleaner.

I have purchased a diff, multiple friction plate and twin pin. The crown wheel bolts into the housing by 8 or 10 bolts can't remember. The inner face of the crown wheel by that I mean the surface area inside the ring of bolts that closes the differential body has a precision ground surface that acts as a thrust face

It is the one. Gave it to my mate to look at with the box and he swore blind it was just a cross pin diff until we took the crown wheel of to see if there were any makings to id it.

I have to work the radios out to set if its still suitable for my build. And that is if I can get hold of the stub axles.

Well here are some shots of the differential. The crown wheel is an integral part of the diff as it acts as one of the pressure plates for the friction pack.

So anyone seen a differential assembly like this before? I would love to keep it but a new crown wheel and pinon will be required.

no idea what it is but http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww264/M...87FCF6-orig.jpg

looking at the ramp angles reminds me of a "1.5" or "1 way" plate lsd.

hmmm,

that all looks a bit funky...

those bearings dont look like the normal mini ones to me, that crown wheel dosent look lie a normal mini one (apart from the extra bolts) it looks like chunkier teeth and straighter cut...

Well its been near two years but I finally have an answer.
Having seen as exploded diagram I now know the differential pictured above is a Gripper differential. That known I should be able to source service parts for it.

Thanks for the feedback lads.
