here was the engine before i started the new build, this time around it will be a lot more tidy and a lot less cluttered, well, thats the plan, i have already got rid of a lot of stuff to tidy it up, and it will be getting sprayed soon too.

managed to grab a few hours over the weekend, with the help of brett we drilled and tapped the manifold in the t2 stud pattern, had to give the manifold a little tickle to give enough clearance for the hose

i will be getting a genuine samco hose and using heat wrap on the manifold too. it should be ok.

big thanks to craig (dig-mini) for welding on my actuator bracket, one less job for me *tongue*

and finished off my timing cover breather today, possibly should of cleaned it down of the surface rust, think I might chuck it in the blast at work, I'm very lazy.

looking good mate..

i have some of those logpro silicone hoses, they hold up pretty well. i wouldnt bother with samco personly.

Also i find that heat wrapping the manifold makes it very hard to get a spanner in to tighten up the manifold nuts. i had mine all wrapped up ready and then removed the wrap cause i was struggling to get the nuts tight.but if you can manage it, go for it.

Don't forget it is right next to a god knows how hot manifold, I think nick goes through a hose per year on the same set up.

maybe take the chance while its out to weld a piece of alloy pipe to the turbo? eliminating the need for the silicone hose there?

Wrapping the exhaust manifold might help reduce the heat so that it isn't an issue. Its looking good too, didn't look untidy before if you ask me.

Brett I gave it a quick mock up and the silicone 90 coming from the turbo will touch the inlet at the angle it used to come out at, which means I'm going to have to re do both sides of the the ic pipework, I am fancying a new intercooler anyway so may go for it while I'm at it

tomorrows job is to get the dash back in and get it all wired up, gauges electric fan and my solenoid valve. should have plenty of time with the clocks going forward

I'm hoping not, would narrow it down to the dump tube though as buck doesn't seem to have a problem and yes but it means an extra hour of daylight after I finish work.

It's to switch from low boost to high boost, won't make much difference as the gt20 actuator is 15psi anyway but i suppose 15psi is more driveable than 20+psi
