I have just bought a rebuild kit for my carburettor and am wondering 2 things.

1) how the hell do you get the float pivot screw out? Mine is stuck solid totally gutted I thought that i would be able to get the re-build done in a couple of hours but spent that trying to get that stupid screw out!

2) Am i supposed to swap in the new butterfly? Beacause it doesnt contain a poppet valve is this OK?

Float pivot screw comes out with a 4mm allen key once you have removed the tamper proof cover. If it won't budge with a 4mm key and the head is rounded out then you will have to resort to the usual methods of knocking in a slightly larger hex or torx drive to try and get some purchase on it to undo it.

Yes swap the new butterfly in. The original allows some boost pressure to pass when you shut the throttle quickly thus preventing turbo stalling. As long as you either have the poppet valve in the plenum still working, or a dump valve fitted, you will be fine. The original butterfly is a flow robbing piece of cr@p.
