Dampers its up to which brand you like or what is recommended. I have used Spax before they are fine. This car has got Gaz shocks on I thought I would try them.

As for the arms, hilos and tie bars, they all achieve the same end result, so little difference between any of it.

A pair of adjustle tie bars are £25 ish at a show, use £6 nylon bushes on them, A pair of £60 pair of neg camber fixed bottom arms and that is the front sorted.

Spax all around, cheaper, lighter than gazzers,go for lowered type.

Sets of hi lo copies go for £80 ish new at shows..OR save your cash and chop down the alloy trumpets a few mm..

Rear camber brackets start at £20 ish a go for fixed but the originals can be doctered to do the job..

Go for a solid front subframe mount kit for sharper steering.

you need a bit of a budget to aim for, I've had most of my mini parts very cheap, I have paid around £1500 just on suspension parts, and there is still things I want to upgrade

digest as you will,

I went from standard suspension and upgraded to Gmax dampers and hi-los, not much difference, a bit more grip. Cost was around £60 all in.

I then got some neg 1.5deg bottom arms and adjustable ties, these were a waste of money. I had 0 camber on one side and -1 on the other.... great. I dont think the subbys are reliable enough to warrant fixed bottom arms, but the adjustable tie rods allow you to set the castor which is good. After a while driving round on this setup i noticed a marked difference in grip between turning one way and the other, probs due to the camber.

I finally decided to upgraded the rubber cone springs to inno spec ones (and then later to minispares rising rate ones, not as good), this was the single bigest improvement to the handling of my car. The old rubbers were completely fubar (approx 10 yr old). As soon as i put the new rubber cone springs on the grip, stability and consistancy improved masively. Infact the new doughnuts were more of an improvement than when i put gaz shocks on (large improvement over the Gmax ones).

After another month of driving i put some adjustable bottom arms on and rear brakets and got the whole lot setup properly. Used the huddersfield spares lower arms, these are adjustable camber but dont have the rosejointed end and probably better suited for road use. The brackets were from minisport. This made a huge difference over the fixed bottom arms and random camber/toe on the back. However, i still rate the new rubber cone springs as having more benefit on handling.

Total cost of my setup including tracking/castor/camber alignment was around £800. Its something i would do again and spend the money on. The only difference would be using genuine spec rubber cone springs over the minispares rising rate ones which are a bit wet.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie
