Sounds almost exactly as I've heard it described. Thankfully I've never had it myself. How have you managed to get it anyway?

My welding mask wasnt charged up, so it didnt dim on a run but i only noticed it after. Ive been blaming my contact lenses but arc seems a more plausable diag

Been there. You'll be ok in a few days as long as you don't start:

rubbing it
fidgeting with it
poking it

or anything else that puts me in danger of being sigged

I've had it mildly a couple of times, as well as feeling like you've got grit in your eyes they water a lot, I presume this is the body's way of trying to rectify the burn to the eye.

one day boost will be mine!

Best thing you can do mike is spend a lot of time in the dark, you normally notice it that night, many if times I have turned round and a welder arcs up at the same time, it has never lasted that long for me though.

happy to say i have never had it but came close when auto darkening helmets didnt bother to auto darken. fiddly as they are a regular fixed glass helmet is a bit safer for confined spaces :(

I'm better off with an auto dark mask as I've got a gas less mig with perminabt live touch, flashed myself so many times when trying to use a normal mask.

All it takes is a relay before the current transformer powered up by the spool motor to make that safe.. I would just refuse to use such a machine mate.

I have had it, was horrible. Light makes the pain worse.

I went to the hospital were I had a foreign doctor who had no clue what it was even though I said. He kept trying to shine a light in my eye. Asked to see someone else and they knew straight away and put some eye drops in. Felt a lot better then.

Think having a bit of metal from the grinder in my eye was worse though!

I've heard of people having drops for arc eye.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I don't have the choice to refuse, as I can't afford to buy a proper gas mig. Take what I can get and do what i can with it, they are awkward to use, really annoying infact. You can never get a 'pretty' looking weld.

Yes i have had it when i was 15yo in A&E at 2am getting 1 drop every 10mins for 2hrs, also having to where some sunglasses for the next 4 days, day and night was not cool in school.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.
