I have used Hammerite Smooth Paint - brushed it on at first straight from the tin and the finish was fairly good, but I am thinning it down now and spraying the last few coats on to get an even coverage.

Cost effective with either hammerite or the por15 powder coating or galvanising would be the ultimate protection IMO but just can't justify the cost |

Hammerite is brittle, isn't it? On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
