Hi
Does anyone know if wrong fuel mixture and fuel pressure can cause smoke on idle? The obvious one would be turbo seals but theres no oil at all in the plenum! The pressure regulator has'nt been set and the carb is off eBay so not sure about the fuel mixture on that?

What colour smoke?

Worn valve guides/seals will cause smoke until it comes on boost.

the smoke is white, i had the guides and stems seals done last year. when i got the head back the valve's seemed to have a bit of play in them, side to side so i took it back they said it was normal but not 100% sure it is? i used the old valves but measured them 1st, they were all ok

white is usually moisture in the smoke. check your head gasket is good. If it's a fresh build or one that has been apart for a bit it could have some moisture/oil left ot burn of.

You could have smoke from the turbo out the exhaust side, which would mean no oil in the inlet.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

my stem seals and/or guides have gone and mine starts with a big cloud of white'ish smoke but clears after 30 secs or so. doesnt help that i park it on a slight down bank as oil sits on the valves all night.

one day boost will be mine!
