Hi guys, I'm currently rebuilding my t3engine and the rough spec is as follows: Turbo Phil head (if he ever finishes and posts it) *happy* 26cc chambers with Exhaust 30mm stainless steel race valves and Inlet 35.6mm etc. Kent cam 266 plus all the much needed upgrades such as ARP bolts amongst others.

This brings me to my question, I'm after a piston that is both reliable and good up to at least 17psi? upon some reach i found this piston http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=34806&title= and I was wondering if it a suitable piston for my engine?

thanks

The don iirc uses mega pistons opened up, there was a bad batch a while back though. Have a search on here for minispares mega pistons

I believe AE changed the manufacturing process between the earlier pistons and the later ones. The early ones being squeese cast and the later ones conventionally cast. Too many people have broken them for me to trust them now and then gone on to use other pistons successfully with no other changes.

The don has the old ones if I remember what carl said to me when I queried it.

i ran +20thou 22357's on 8.9:1 cr no intercooler with 12psi boost, it went well but they broke somewhere between 15 and 17 psi, i know now that that settup was rather foolish and i am surprised they lasted that long
demonstrating imo they ( at least was) a strong piston, very thick crown as well if i remember rightly
my pistons was acquired as new but very old stock, getting rings was hard though
EDIT, mine was 12cc dish aswell
