I think i'm finally in a position where I can begin planning for my fast road rebuild (give or take a few tools). Listed below is the planned spec that i'm thinking of and any feedback from you TMers would be greatly appreciated. I reckon it'll take me about a year to build because of work commitments, budget and getting married, etc. I think I might do it in three stages as well so that it isn't off the road for any long periods of time. If anyone has any of these parts for sale then feel free to PM me and I may well make you an offer.

Stage One:

Turbo Clutch (Current one is slipping)

Clutch Slave Cylinder (Current one is leaking. Could also be surrounding pipework that is leaking or even master cylinder. Either way, I know I have to bleed my clutch every 1000 miles!)

Stage Two:

Sympathetic rebuild of 1275cc engine

New gaskets and seals

New bearings throughout

SW5 cam, followers and duplex timing kit

Megajolt

Cross pin diff

Stage Three: (one of two options)

Mirage manifold

T2 turbo

Modify cylinder head for application

OR

Supercharger kit

Modify cylinder head for application

well you may well end up needing some machine work, as you will not know for sure the condition of the engine until its stripped. And as for the 3 stage option as much as it sounds good, you will be much better off doing it in one go.

one reason being that you will need to build it for your chosen plan, whether or not to turbo it.

turbo is the furture though.

save up and do it all at once or get another engine and turbo that one so you still can drive the car while you build

Done now needs redoing lol

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've been doing a bit of research and stumbled across the mention of an RTS clutch. What does it stand for? And would anyone on here be willing to supply me with one or help me make one?
