Just about to install the primary and drops to my new motor and thought Id do some basic measurements. The clearance between bush and crank at the front and rear was 0.140 and 0.145 respectively. The end float was 0.25mm. Is this serviceable or do I need to get new bushes and crank washer. They are marginally over the limits Ive found in the manual, but if you go off Calvers recommendations they are just in for a "race" engine.

Whats the issue if the clearances are very slightly bigger than specified. Is it just a rattly noise issue or is going to cause damage/ failure?

I would recommend using the minispares fully floating primary gear front bush and I have only ever gone by feel on the axial movement of the rear top hat bush with no issues! I always like the end float to be well within spec for a road engine. Hope this helps.
