An interesting story ?

I emailed some of you a while back about the disappearance (read stolen) of a mini turbo in the South-West.
Well there is an update!

The engine (which was pretty unique in appearance) and other parts from the mini was being offered on Ebay very recently. I can?t possible state the auction number ? but if you do a search for completed mini turbo engine auctions for between ?600 and ?700, chances are you?ll find it.

There are other details that we won?t go into just yet, but the mini itself and most of the other parts have disappeared. The engine ? which was FAR, FAR, FAR from a ?standard metro turbo with hi-lift rockers? has been recovered ? along with the roll-cage, front end, and alloy radiator.

So, some good news ? it means yet-another turbo mini at Avon park I suspect - aswell as somone happy as Larry to be getting a very expensive part of their mini back!

I saw that for sale. Just remember seeing the alloy radiator as i mentioned it to dan.

What happened, did he "owner" go round there and kick off?

I hope he taught the block a lesson!!!!!

its got an alloy rad put to one side in the picture, with a flip front behind etc etc..

I remember seeing this auction and thinking it was a bit fishy, really just because the seller blatantly didn't really know what they were on about.

i agree tom, as in most cases theres no happy ending, i hope the guy smashed the theiving chuffer over the head with motor before leaving

I looked at that one as well, Almost considered it until i asked the seller a question and he spouted a load of bollocks!!! Put me off then

whats there address? could it be accidently posted?

Good to hear someone getting caught and hopfully someone else getting there pride and joy back, or some of it at least.

That's terrible, I hope the thief gets well and truely strung up for it. Alex's mums local paper had an article last week about someone stealing minis, breaking them and making apparently £30k from ebay sales. Utterly disgusting!

Yeah, i'm sure that was the guy who had my blue mini away.

A few days after it went missing there was a sportspack hanging around outside our house. My mum took down the plate and the reg was traced to the place where they found all the cars that that guy had pinched.

Never did find the blue car though...

after reading this thread I got my mini insured
